Triangle customer, The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability, has won a prestigious accolade at the Skills for London Awards held by the Learning and Skills Council, acknowledging their outstanding work towards upskilling their staff.
The awards, hosted by TV presenter Fearne Cotton and David Lammy MP, Minister for Skills, were organised to acknowledge individuals and organisations in the London region and included special recognitions for top apprentices, businesses, and this year for the first time, training providers.
The Royal Hospital of Neuro-disability won ‘Train to Gain Employer of the Year’ in the large employer category – an award designed for those showing exceptional commitment to developing a workforce under Train to Gain*. The hospital, based in Putney, is an independent medical charity specialising in the treatment of individuals who have suffered damage to the brain or nervous system.
The hospital places a high level of commitment to staff development, demonstrated by their in-house NVQ centre which has been established for over seven years. As well as the extensive training support given to employees, they have also built key partnerships with other healthcare organisations and providers to enable some learners to access learning which may not have been previously possible. One of these key partnerships is with Southwark College, who nominated the hospital for the award, and who work closely with them to meet their training goals.
Through Triangle, their appointed Train to Gain brokerage organisation, The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability undertook an organisational needs analysis. With continued support from Triangle and the Train to Gain service, the hospital maximised the opportunities available to them and their employees. Funded training completed by staff included NVQs in Customer Care and Skills for Life courses.
