London and the Home Counties

Project: Train to Gain

Client: LSC London Region

Date: April 2006 - March 2009

Aims of project: From April 2006 to March 2009, Triangle was the Learning and Skills Council appointed Skills Brokerage Organisation for Train to Gain covering several business sectors in the London region. These sectors include Health and Social Care, Business and Finance, Creative & Cultural and Judicial & Central Government.
Train to Gain aims to encourage all businesses and individuals to realise the benefits that learning and skills can bring. Employers receive a free appointment with a skills broker and as a result of this meeting, are presented with a choice of training solutions detailing recommended courses proposed by the broker.

A successful result: During the course of the service Triangle have engaged over 5000 employers onto the Train to Gain programme and helped successfully develop a new specialised service for larger employers. Triangle currently provide skills brokerage support to employers under an agreement with London Brokerage Ltd.



 
Project: Leadership & Management Specialist Advisory Service

Client: LSC London

Date: April 2008 - March 2011

Aims of project: Working in partnership with London Brokerage Consortium to deliver the Leadership and Management Specialist Advisory Service under the Train to Gain umbrella across the London Region. Specialist service designed to develop the skills of key leaders and managers through a structured diagnostics process the production of a Personal Action Plan, brokerage and access to grants. Over 2700 businesses to be supported.

A successful result: Triangle has delivered Leadership and Management for several years under Train to Gain, and continue to deliver successful results for this newly evolved Leadership and Management Advisory Service with a dedicated Adviser Team.


 

Wales and South West

Project: ApprenticeshipPlus

Client: LSC South West

Date: July 2009 - March 2010

Aims of project: This new pilot project has been set up to aid the success of apprenticeships through mentoring in the South West of England from September 2009. The programme funded through the Learning and Skills Council aims to help 150 LDD apprentices (those with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities) and 130 employers that currently provide work for apprentices. Apprentices will receive specialist support from LDD experienced mentors, and once the project is completed Triangle will look to form case studies and best practice data for similar future schemes. The programme will be carried out working in partnership with local Further Education providers and part of the project involves promoting apprenticeships through potential recruitment routes such as local schools. 



Project: Opportunity Swindon

Client: Employment Opportunities

Date: May 2009 - November 2009

Aims of project: The Opportunity Swindon programme, funded through ESF and LSC, offers short term work placements for individuals with disabilities and health conditions in the Swindon area. It supports the development of employability for people with disabilities, benefiting both the individual and the wider local economy. Triangle delivers part of the programme that helps employers to take part in the scheme, assisting them to identify potential work placements which are then matched to learners.

A successful result: The official launch of the event in June saw immediate sign ups from large local employers, and employer engagement activity continues to meet target profiles.



 

Project: HRD Workforce Development Programme

Client: Welsh Assembly Government

Date: August 2008 – August 2011

Aims of project: The HRD Workforce Development Programme provides tailored advice and support to enhance the skills of SME employees across all regions of Wales and meet business objectives, underpinned by the IiP Standard. Triangle’s team of Human Resource Development Advisers conduct strategic diagnostics against the IiP Standard and/or the IiP Leadership and Management Model and help to generate Organisational Development Plans, develop Business Learning Plans, support the implementation of these plans and provide ongoing support.

A successful result: In its first few months Triangle has established new premises and exceeded employer engagement targets.

Project: Gloucester Works

Client: Gloucestershire First

Date: August 2008 - December 2009

Aims of project: Delivered as part of the Gloucester Works programme and funded through ESF, the programme supports businesses in Gloucester to diagnose their recruitment and skills needs, support succession planning and business growth.

A successful result: Early indications show Triangle meeting employer engagement targets and programme delivery has already developed successfully in order to fulfil changes to some of the programme objectives.
